Making Life Easier for Disables Veterans

This CNN article dives deeper into the story behind Purple Heart Homes Co-Founders, Dale Beatty, left, and John Gallina, right, and why they felt the need to start this organization. After returning home, Dale’s community came together to help him build an accessible home, which sparked a bigger mission, and along with his friend John Gallina, who also served and was injured, they started Purple Heart Homes. By involving local volunteers, Purple Heart Homes not only improves living spaces but also creates a supportive community that helps veterans feel valued and connected. Their goal is simple: no veteran should be left behind when it comes to having a safe, accessible place to call home.

“Regardless of when you served, where you served … we’re all the same,” Beatty said. “They just need to know that somebody does care about them...We wouldn’t leave someone behind on the battlefield. Why would we do it at home?”
