Vincent Valles

Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Vincent Valles joined the Arizona Air National Guard in 1965. In his own words, he told us, “It was my duty to serve.” Vincent completed Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and then proceeded to do his technical training in Amarillo, Texas. He served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist in the 162nd Air Borne Division in his hometown of Tucson before being honorably discharged in 1970.

If you ask Vincent what his reason for serving the country was, he’ll tell you, “As an American, I was and still am proud to serve my nation.” He established his civilian career with the Tucson Parks & Recreation Administration, where he worked for 33 years. Vincent shares his home with his wife, Olga, with whom he shares three children. Their oldest son took to the sky, like his father, and served in the U.S. Air Force. Their daughter provides them both with a tremendous amount of support throughout their daily lives.

Vincent’s wife, Olga, lives with limited mobility due to physical disability. Both she and Vincent need updates made to their home in order for it to remain safe and accessible as they continue to age. Vincent works around the house as best as he can, but there is only so much that he can do without requiring professional assistance.

Purple Heart Homes will be partnering with the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association with assistance from Bank of America to provide the Valles family with renovations to their bathroom. Vincent’s primary concern is Olga’s accessibility. He shares, “My daughter has to leave work early to come over and give my wife a bath. Olga has difficulty going in and out of the shower, so having these renovations would be a great help to us as a family.”

We are grateful for your service, Vincent, both inside of the military and outside for your community and family. We welcome you and Olga to the Purple Heart Homes family!
