Honoring Our Ruckers: June Ruck Challenge Participants Making a Difference

Last Updated 7/14/2025Posted in In The News

Our June Ruck Challenge has officially wrapped, and we are incredibly proud of the commitment, grit, and heart our community brought to this effort. With hundreds of participants logging miles throughout the month, we collectively raised $23,795 in support of Purple Heart Homes and the Veterans we serve.

Whether you rucked solo, with a team, or supported from the sidelines, your involvement made a lasting impact. Every mile walked and every dollar raised helped us provide safe and accessible housing solutions for aging and disabled Veterans. Thank you for showing up and walking with purpose.

Brian Schlatter

Brian completed his 50 miles on June 4 and raised $317 for Purple Heart Homes!

When we asked Brian what inspired him to participate, he shared:

“I joined this challenge because I am a double Purple Heart recipient, and I wanted a challenge to force me to exercise.”

Brian’s journey is a powerful reflection of strength, perseverance, and service. He’s not only walking the walk, but he’s leading by example and giving back to fellow Veterans through his efforts.

Mike Lennon

Mike is our top fundraiser for the June Ruck Challenge! He raised $2,227 for Purple Heart Homes and completed his 50 miles on June 29.

Mike shared on social media that he joined this challenge to raise money "so that we can do more projects for service disabled veterans."

Mike’s dedication speaks volumes. His efforts are making a real difference in the lives of veterans, turning miles into meaningful support and showing what is possible when we walk with purpose.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

As we reflect on this year’s challenge, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible individuals who stepped up to carry the weight for our heroes. The dedication, stories, and support we witnessed throughout the month were nothing short of inspiring.

Although the 2025 June Ruck Challenge is complete, the mission continues. If you’d like to stay involved, support a participant, or be the first to hear about future challenges, visit our Ruck Challenge page or follow us on Facebook for updates.
