Purple Heart Homes is proud to celebrate a successful year of the Strikeouts for Veterans campaign in partnership with University of South Carolina pitcher Jake McCoy.

Before the 2024-2025 season began, Jake pledged to donate $23 for every strikeout he recorded to support Purple Heart Homes and our mission to provide safe and accessible housing for service-connected disabled Veterans. Over the course of 14 games, Jake pitched 60 innings, tallying an impressive 77 strikeouts for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Thanks to Jake's dedication on the mound and the generosity of our community, the 2024-2025 Strikeouts for Veterans campaign raised an incredible $17,738.

Jake McCoy, a junior left-handed pitcher from Fort Mill, South Carolina, has been a proud supporter of Purple Heart Homes, combining his passion for baseball with his drive to make a difference in the lives of Veterans.

"Partnering with PHH and raising more than $17k was a truly amazing and meaningful experience. The relationships built during this initiative have far exceeded my expectations and will continue to strengthen in the future. I can't wait to continue into 2026 and beyond and see the impact we can make with the Strikeout for Veterans program." said Jake McCoy, Pitcher for the University of South Carolina.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are also excited to announce the launch of the 2025-2026 Strikeouts for Veterans campaign. Jake will once again take the field for the Gamecocks, continuing his pledge to turn every strikeout into an opportunity to serve those who served us.

Purple Heart Homes and Jake McCoy would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our 2024-2025 corporate donors:

Spokeology Marketing, Groucho's Deli Statesville, Allison Fence Co., Groucho's Deli Franchise, Next Level Kidz, Carolinas Fence Association, and the Fisher DeBerry Foundation, as well as all the individual donors who supported this impactful campaign.

As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 season, we encourage everyone to stay tuned for exciting announcements and new developments as Jake and Purple Heart Homes continue to grow this incredible partnership and deepen its impact for Veterans nationwide.

Together, we are proving that every strikeout counts, and that teamwork, both on and off the field, changes lives.
