Honoring Veterans Through Partnership: Thank You, Catawba Attachments

Last Updated 10/15/2025Posted in In The News

This past Memorial Day, Catawba Attachments went above and beyond to honor America’s heroes through their Reverse Memorial Day Sale, a special initiative created to give back to Veterans and their families. On Memorial Day, the company donated 15% of all online sales to Purple Heart Homes, raising an incredible $4,560. in support of our mission to provide safe and accessible housing solutions for service-connected disabled Veterans.

Following the fundraiser, the Catawba Attachments team proudly presented Purple Heart Homes with a $4,560 check, demonstrating their continued dedication to supporting those who served. This generous donation directly fuels our ability to carry out projects that make a life-changing impact for Veterans in need across the country.

Fundraisers like this are what make it possible for Purple Heart Homes to serve Veterans like U.S. Army Veteran Joe Ruffin of Wilson, North Carolina. Through our Veterans Aging in Place (VAIP) Program and support from a North Carolina Government Grant, Joe’s home received much-needed repairs, including a full bathroom remodel and sunroom restoration. These updates allowed her to live more safely and comfortably in her own home, something every Veteran deserves.

Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1993, earning honors such as the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal. Today, she continues to serve her community through organizations like the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
