Pamela Corr

When she joined the U.S. Air Force in 1992, Pamela Corr’s original desire was to get out and see the world. It didn’t take long for that desire to develop into serving the country and working with her fellow troops.

Pamela completed Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and continued her technical education at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. During her 20 years of Active Duty, she served in Logistics Management Supply at Griffiss Air Force Base in New York, Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, and Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. She also completed a remote tour at Kunsan Air Force Base in Korea before being honorably discharged in 2012.

It wasn’t just learning how to deal with the lack of structure that she became used to while serving in the military, but also carrying the weight of constant anxiety and depression that made Pamela’s transition back to civilian life difficult. However, there were also several highlights that welcomed her home. Pamela was beyond grateful to spend more time with her husband, Walt, who is also a Veteran, and their two children. She also took advantage of the opportunity to complete her education. In her spare time, Pamela finds joy in volunteering with her church, reading books, and working in her yard.

Fayetteville, North Carolina, is where Pamela and her family call home. Thanks to support from Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union, Purple Heart Homes will be assisting the Corr family with much needed bathroom renovations and repairs to their air ducts. “These renovations mean that my family won’t have to wait so long to use the bathroom,” expressed Pamela, overcome with gratitude. She continued, “A huge financial burden will be lifted from us. Life will be so much less stressful.”
